Deir el-Medina

A new place that we visited on the Western Thebes was Medina. The actual area nestled in a small wadi north of the Valley of the Queens for the Workers and the Artisans and prepared all the tombs for the Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings. The place did not look overly interesting – just another series of mud brick ruins, but when we went into the tomb of Sennedjem and looked at the art work, it was spectacular – the most brilliant yellow colours.

My only problem was there were no photos allowed to be taken.

Above is one of the entrances to one of the workers tombs.
