Marriott Hotel in Cairo – The Gezirah Palace
The Gezirah Palace resemble the palace in France, Versailles, The purpose for this palace was to host the French Empress Eugénie who was invited along with her husband the French Emperor Napoleon III and other European monarchs the Suez Canal inauguration celebrations that took place in 1869.
The entrances to the building was been done with great care – with a large tiled entrance area leading up red carpet to a landing and then separates to both the Left and the Right to go up to the Ballroom. On the Landing, there is a large statue of an Eagle on a pedestal directly in front of a huge mirror.
