We had just arrived at the Car park (or Bus park as we were in a Bus), I was surprised to see a nice lake – looks artificial, but nice palm trees had been planted. As we approached the like I saw signs saying no swimming and no drinking!!
The lake is artificial and the water in the lake has been drawn from underground. To prevent flooding of the underground mines, the water was pumped into this lake and is now used for animals and as an oasis for people when they visit. Although not suitable for drinking or swimming, it is used for water activities such as paddle boats.
Interesting – but we made our way to the replica of the Tabernacle – thats what we came for!!
