One of the things that I noticed whilst travelling down the Nile and even more so in Cairo was the amount of smoke that filled the air. Whilst still staying on the Cruise Ship, early in the morning looking out the window, we could see a number of hot air balloons floating on the western side of the River Nile near Luxor. The Mountain in the distance are the Thebes – the Location of Valley of the Kings where there are numerous tombs of Pharaohs including the mummy of Tutankhamen – one of the more recently located tombs.
Getting back to the smoke – you could not only smell the smoke, but it made taking nice crisp photos very difficult.
