Jamestown – RM WIlliams

The RM Williams Interpretive Centre in Jamestown celebrates the life and achievements of Australian outback legend Reginald Murray Williams. RM Williams grew up on a nearby family farm and became famous for his handcrafted boots and clothing.

RM Williams Heritage in Jamestown

We strolled down RM Williams Way and found this open-air centre opposite Memorial Park. We read storyboards about his journey from the Jamestown area to global fame. The carved wooden bust and shaded picnic spots made our visit inspiring and restful. Behind this area is the low-cost camping area a Robinson Park.

Learning about RM Williams’ connection to Jamestown, we felt part of the Australian outback’s enduring story. Locals shared tales of his legacy and the friendly, down-to-earth nature that shaped his brand’s values.

Entry to the open-air centre is free, with plenty of parking available nearby. Bring a picnic and sit under the shady trees to soak up outback history. The centre offers easy accessibility for all ages.

For vibrant photos, visit in the early morning or late afternoon for soft lighting on the bust and storyboards. Capture the outline of the memorial with Memorial Park or the Jamestown streetscape in the background.

Free and Budget Camping

For budget-conscious travellers, Robinson Park Motorhome Reserve welcomes self-contained vans and motorhomes at low cost for up to 5 nights, with drinking water and dog-friendly spaces provided. Need to register and pay at the local Foodland store. I cost us $10 per night – which needed to be paid for in cash.
