Gunbower, Victoria, is a peaceful township in Northern Victoria, situated on the Murray Valley Highway.  It is located about 200 km from Melbourne and northwest of Echuca.

Gunbower Island and National Park

Gunbower Island sits between the Murray River and Gunbower Creek, forming one of Australia’s most important wetland habitats. We enjoyed riverside bushwalking and counted over a hundred bird species, spotting kangaroos, turtles, and reptiles along the tracks. This massive River Red Gum forest is recognised for birdwatching and native wildlife.
